I think it depends on the worker and the company. While most people I know are happier working from home, a few have complained that they miss the camaraderie of the office. As far as productivity goes, most studies I've seen show little difference between the two setups.

It is almost impossible to build a strong, cohesive workplace culture if most workers are not actually on-site. Hybrid work is more likely to succeed.
