In the lead up to the Smart Grid Big Data 2019 Conference, which is taking place September 17 to 19 in Berlin, Germany, Energy Central has been profiling and interviewing a number of the esteemed speakers who will be speaking at this event.
One of those speakers is Dan Wilson, an Asset Data Manager and NMS Data Lead at Electricity North West.
Dan is going to be presenting to the utility industry experts in big data on the topic of data quality. Specifically, Dan will be featured on a utility panel discussion entitled “Approaches to Data Quality Best Practice – Establishing frameworks for improving the quality of historic and current data to achieve analytical accuracy.”
This topic is such a critical one in the world of energy and utilities as we’re at this critical junction of digitizing the field and truly understanding what is possible with all this data. But those data are useless if not collected accurately and if we cannot assure they are of high quality and utilized in the best way.
For that reason, Dan’s panel at Smart Grid Big Data 2019 is not to be missed. As a sneak preview of this event, Dan was kind enough to take some time to chat with me about this topic and why it’s so important. As a slight change from the other interviews, we’ve decided to present this conversation in audio form because Dan’s answers were so in depth and interesting that we wanted you to hear it directly from him.
If you're interested in learning more about how utilities should be ensuring big data quality, be sure to check out Dan Wilson's panel on thetopic at the Smart Grid Big Data 2019 conference next week in Berlin, Germany. You can learn more about the agenda and register for the conference here.
