Top 7 Grid Modernization Challenges/Opportunities

image credit: Picture taken by Worcester Polytechnic Institute

I was recently asked to write and article for T&D World about my views on the top 7 challenges and opportunities in Grid Modernization.  With growing technical complexity and existing demographics in our industry, the #1 challenge and opportunity is people.  What do you think?

The article has been published at:  www.tdworld.com/smart-grid/grid-modernization-countdown

Interesting Mike-- when you said that the top challenge was people, I was assuming that you were talking about the customers. Not that customers are 'difficult' perse, but that building up new technology and programs for them to use is the easy part and getting them to adopt to them is the hard part
