Whatever I had learned about people management and leadership styles in my career was only by self-learning and hits & misses.

I was unfortunate to have seniors as my mentor or to follow as a leadership role model.

I can recall a couple of cases when I tried to act following seniors’ advice and failed. Those were actually ill advice.

At a later stage, when I introspected, I could understand my shortcomings to handle the situation. This realisation was painful.

Thanks for the shared post.  I think many of us find that we learn by experience more than anything.  Sometimes it can be painful!  This speaks to why it is important to not put the younger generation right out of school in positions higher than their abilities.  College education can teach you a lot, but experience and wisdom come from working under a seasoned mentor and earning your wings before you fly!

I am happy that you have acknowledged the issue. It means it is equally applicable to your country also. While writing, I had an impression that it is an India centric issue and may not be present in developed countries like the US.
However, I will be glad if I can add any value to the growth of the young generation.

Thank DR DEBASIS for the Post!
