We weren't ready for a pandemic — imagine a crippling cyberattack
The vulnerability of our electric grid is another 'blinking red light' threat to our national security and economy.
The myriad challenges posed by the coronavirus underscore the urgent need to ensure that our nation's power supplies aren't significantly disrupted by a cyber attack, writes retired Vice Admiral John Shkor in this commentary published in The Hill. Shkor, who is on the board of directors of the nonprofit Protect Our Power organization, points to the newly released report from the Cyberspace Solarium Commission as an important pathway to enhanced grid resilience.
