It's easy to forget the grid is vulnerable to old fashion, non-digital attacks too.

Unfortunately, this is only going to get worse. I remember the Metcalf substation attack in 2013? It was an eye opener for transmission operators nationally, and in northern California it was especially unnerving. I'm still at a loss if we have 500kV transformers in reserve or not? Does NERC require it? DOE?
