I've worked within standards development organizations that are accredited by ANSI and follow the ANSI standards development process since 1995, which results in effective, transparent, consensus standards that have served industry well.

I'm perplexed why NERC would want to "disconnect" from following highly effective and efficient ANSI standards development processes that have been in place for over 40 years and is followed by hundreds of organizations across the US. What is motivating this change by NERC?
