This recent, 36 minute interview with Gordon van Welie should be required listening for policy makers across New England and US wholesale markets. I agree with Gordon, there isn't enough being done to meet State energy goals AND decarbonize electricity generation to have a positive impact on climate change and ensure a reliable electric grid at a reasonable cost to consumers. There has been lots of talk and "vision statements" but no real urgency to enact real and effective changes that may, some day, protect our great grandchildren from living under fear of extreme weather events, more pandemics and greater economic strains from paying high electricity prices due to the continued use of fossil fuels. A little empathy and action today could make future generations lives a little better.
