Sometimes described as the workhorse of the hydrogen economy, ammonia is being stimulated by recent definitions as to what exactly constitutes green ammonia and make it an even more tradeable commodity.

Ammonia should only be labelled as “green” if the production process emits less than 300g of CO2-equivalent (CO2e) per kilogram of NH3.

Progress revolves around several strategic plans and especially with front runner ports now commencing major ammonia infrastructure projects. Two trailblazing projects, one in Wilhelmshaven in Northern Germany - and the other at Immingham in the UK.
