What's the efficiency of the current energy mix available, and what is the influence of the increasing share of renewable energy sources? The Primary Energy Factor (PEF) is one tool to get an idea of how efficient our electricity generation is at the moment.
Currently a value of 2.5 is presented. This means that all power generation in the EU is only 40% efficient.
Will the influence of renewable energies increase or decrease this value?
