Renewables eclipsing coal in U.S. electricity production is not breaking news; however, a full shift in attention from coal to beating back natural gas is news for the larger clean energy advocate community. The country has quietly grown to lean on natural gas nearly 3x as hard for electricity production over the last 20 years.
