In November, the natural gas spot prices reached their highest levels since June 2014, according to the US Energy Information Agency. Cold weather seems to be driving the high prices. November heating degree days (HDD) were up 14% from their 10-year (2008–2017) average. In the Midwest and Northeast, the November HDD rose 17% to 28% respectively.
