Pandemic, energy and the Brazilian State

The electricity sector will receive a large contribution of resources to face the CV-19 crisis, originated by the drop in energy consumption of the country.

Nothing different from what has happened with other segments of society in which the Brazilian State has helped (via subsidized loans and grants) the vulnerable, companies and institutions.

Of course, the desire is to provide conditions for everyone to survive the pandemic times.

The State does not generate wealth. It only distributes it. It collects taxes to pay for its "machine", make investments and pay its debt.

As we all know, the Brazilian State is totally out of balance as its accounts have closed for years with huge losses.

It is high time to turn around the situation. Seeking a balance for the good of Brazilians. Be realistic by adapting the size of the state to what is feasible.

Or else there will be an enormous social cost arising from the systematic impoverishment that will undeniably occur. Is this what we want?
