Consumption of natural gas is expected to fall to 3.4 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d), according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA). Residential and commercial markets are expected to decrease by 3.7% and 6.9%, respectively. The shutdown from the COVID-19 virus and milder-than-normal temperatures in the first quarter are two drivers in the reduced energy consumption.
