Habitat for Humanity is a global non-profit organization dedicated to improving communities around the world. We had the opportunity to work with our local Habitat for Humanity, specifically at the ReStore, their home improvement store and donation center which supplies the community with affordable second-hand home goods. The money raised from the ReStore directly supports Habitat’s mission to build and repair homes in the community.
We at Hawai‘i Energy are dedicated to serving our island family by encouraging and educating people to make smart energy choices. We teamed up with one of our contactors to provide them with new LED lighting, free of charge. This not only saved them money upfront but also in the long-term where they’ll notice a significant decrease in their electric bill and higher quality lighting in their facility.
Earth Day is a great time to reignite discourse surrounding the subject of creating a sustainable future for ourselves. But we also recognize that it’s our daily responsibility to do our part to take care of our earth’s resources as we take action to keep Hawai‘i on track to reaching its goal of 100% clean energy by 2045, as declared by our state’s governor.
