Dept. of Energy offers $22 million for energy efficiency and building electrification upgrades
There is no one-size-fits-all solution for upgrading building energy efficiency. However, a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ opportunity is what some are calling the DOE’s funding to upgrade existing buildings. The Buildings Upgrade Prize (Buildings UP) is offering more than $22 million in cash prizes and technical assistance. The initiative is administered by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory but developed and funded by the U.S. Department of Energy Building Technologies Office.
