Many projects are on hold as we wait out the pandemic. However, Con Edison is moving forward with several energy efficiency plans for the summer. The utility announced a $1.3 billion investment toward upgrades to cover all regions of the company. With so many people working from home in New York City and the Westchester County service area, the utility is promoting conservation as the best way to avoid skyrocketing energy bills. Con Edison is offering energy-saving tips and energy efficiency programs to residential, commercial and industrial customers. While "an excessive load" was said not to be the cause of last year's power outage, could conservation help prevent another summer blackout?
