Every week thought leaders, working in the power industry, dedicate their time and resources to contribute their insights with the Energy Central Communities.

So, who stood out in 2018 and who should you be reading?

Over the next several weeks we will be introducing you to some of these leaders and their top contributions.   We hope you will take a minute to learn a little about them, read a few of their shared insights and perhaps start a discussion through commenting on their post.

Please meet Nathan Sykes, one of our top voices for The Energy Collective Group in 2018:

A little bit about Nathan:

What you like to write about?

I like to write about how the latest technology will impact industries, whether it's energy, utilities, manufacturing, or corporate businesses, if emerging technologies can influence its future, I'm there to write about it.

Post or posts you are most proud of?

One of my proudest pieces of 2018 would have to be the "How AI and Automation Are Impacting the Future of Energy" post I did for Energy Central because I think it was able to showcase an angle of technology in energy that maybe not everyone has considered.

When do you do your best writing?

I do my best writing in the morning, right after I drink copious amounts of iced coffee.

What story fell flat in 2018?

Well I can't say it's my favorite story or even one that fell flat, I very much enjoyed reading (and even sometimes writing about) the fluxes in what the tech community thought about cryptocurrencies and what they mean for our future!

There were a lot of ups and downs, uncertainties and promises when it came to cryptocurrencies in 2018 but I think that those all highlight how exciting the tech community is, you never really know what's next.
