I'm confident that many people on Energy Central won't be surprised by this report of another successful cyber-crime in the Energy industry. There has been considerable discussion within the EC community for years about the real risks that exist in the weak cybersecurity protection guidelines endorsed by the energy industry. We should expect more of these type of news stories, until someone gets serious and informs the energy industry - this isn't about compliance - it's about the need for real security measures to protect the national infrastructure. Maybe the forthcoming executive order will prompt a complete blood transfusion to motivate the industry away from this "compliance mindset" toward a "lets do our job to protect the national infrastructure" mindset. One can hope.
