Another vicious "gift"
Today, the letter from the Associação Brasiliera das Distribuidoras de Energia Elétrica (Brazilian Association of Electric Energy Distributors) was published with great prominence in the specialized press, asking for the withdrawal of amendments to MP 1118.
It claims that it would increase almost USD 2 Billion per year for consumers, with an impact of 4% on their power bill.
The "unceremonious" rite of including "costly gifts" for all consumers is still going strong in Brazil.
It is very sad because this practice takes (even more) Brazil out of cost competitiveness. But who cares?
The first and most important challenge we have is to become aware of this situation. And then change.
