Biden-Harris Administration Announces Historic Investments to Support America’s Energy and Industrial Communities
Today, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) once again demonstrated its commitment to boosting domestic clean energy manufacturing and ensuring that traditionally underserved communities benefit from clean energy technologies by partnering with the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service to implement programs with that aim—the Qualifying Advanced Energy Project Credit Program & the Low-Income Communities Bonus Credit Program—while also opening applications for a $750 million Advanced Energy Manufacturing and Recycling Grant Program, funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, to support industrial projects by small- and medium-sized manufacturers in energy communities.
This whole-of-government approach builds on other efforts related to or stemming from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), including LPO’s Innovative Clean Energy & Energy Infrastructure Reinvestment, Advanced Transportation, Tribal Energy, and Carbon Dioxide Transportation Infrastructure financing programs that aim to spur American-made clean energy investments, bolster domestic supply chains, and help re-shore American manufacturing jobs.
