I see the fingerprints of Jigar Shah being appointed here already-- great way to stimulate the national economy, create some clean energy jobs, and prepare for the future. Hopefully we'll also see some DOE funding also go to the grid-side of this equation too

Jigar is likely to be off-the-charts good at this. Can you think of a more perfect recipe?  If Jigar didn't exist for this job, we'd probably have to invent him:

1) entrepreneurial to his marrow

2) knows the sustainable tech space backwards, forwards, and sideways

3) understands finance

4) not afraid to take tough decisions/viewpoints

It's going to be interesting to see what gets funded.
