Is solar energy feasible?

Using the data from a neighbor's electric bill, who expressed an interest in installing a solar system on his roof, here in the city of São Paulo, Brazil, I accessed a well known solar portal and got the following results (as a reference please consider 1 USD = R$ 5.2)

* Necessary investment R$ 30 thousand
* Annual savings of R$ 5,000 (R$ 415/month)
* Financing cost in 84 months, R$ 700/month
* The monthly bill currently paid is R$ 450

As from the 7th year of installation, it starts to offset the increase in cost incurred (R$ 250/month x 84 installments paid = R$ 21,000).

It is equivalent to saying that it will take another 4 years to "reset" this cost. And so positive savings results will start from the 11th year.

Do you find this investment interesting?
