The capacity exchanges continue to add new supply to the system and the price is cost competitive with wholesale markets. The number of annoucned projects is increasing along with the capacity sizes of installed supply. How long will it be before wholesale capacity markets become about as important as buggy whips. My suggestion to all the Utility executives out there is to read the excellent article called Marketing Myopia by Theodore Levitt in a past edition of the Harvard Business Review. "Every major industry was once a growth industry."
