Organic ionic plastic crystals and air-conditioning

A nice result, which may or may not have big effects, has been discovered with organic ionic plastic crystals, and their possible use in air-conditioning.  The primary research on these materials has been connected with battery storage.  To see what they are, an article that discusses them is Nanditha Sirigiri, Fangfang Chen, Craig M.
