Readers will note that the title of this paper starts with “Part 9”, which means I have written at least eight of these before. Actually, more like 25 with this post. Instructions to access the other 24 papers are in the Introduction for this paper.

In section 2 of this paper, I provide a few details on nuclear power plants built in the US from 1980 through 2024. The reason I picked this period is that this chronicles the demise of the U.S. Nuclear Industry. Also, per at least one source, no new nuclear power reactors are currently being planned nor constructed in the US.

In section 3 we will review some good news – a couple of plants that were shuttered earlier are being restarted. Why? One because of the insatiable electric-demand from the artificial intelligence and crypto sectors, and the ability of a few tech-giants to make this happen. These giants also appear to be boot-strapping small modular reactors into deployment.
