The human being is, par excellence, an animal full of contradictions.
I read this week a very interesting (and disturbing) news.
An American super engaged in "reducing emissions" taking an action that caught the attention of the energy community.
She bought an electric car on the grounds that it would reduce emissions - which of course is true compared to a traditional internal combustion vehicle.
At home, she replaced gas heaters with electric ones to reduce emissions.
She invested and installed photovoltaic solar generation to pursue even more clean energy..
But ... when a company decided to install a solar farm near her house, she became a "monster"! She started fierce opposition, arguing that a certain type of bird would be harmed, since it liked the trees in that location.
And she took the initiative to file a lawsuit in court.
It matters little to this person that the solar farm would reduce emissions considering that the American matrix still has an important fuel-based component.
The human being is not easy! This realization must be part of the solutions that are necessary for the common welfare. It is quite a challenge to deal with our own contradictions!
