A signal as to how future wind farm developments may look as Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy has landed an order for 100 of its newly launched SG14-222DD offshore wind turbines for developer Innogy’s 1.4GW Sofia megaproject off the UK, the latest in a series of gigawatt-scale contracts for the record-setting 14MW machine.
