Yes, I’m going to spend the entire week reviewing the results of the Resources for the Future Climate Insights 2024 Report and with good reason.
Many might read the report and think “this is good” the vast majority of people are thinking “green.” However, that isn’t what I see at all. In fact, the more I dig into the results the worse I believe they are.
Today’s post illustrates what I mean.
Tomorrow, I’ll wrap up summarizing the results. And next week I’ll review what it means to the climate movement and what changes need to be made if we are to instill the kind of attitude among the general public that is necessary to achieve our net-zero goals.
The bottom line is that despite all the fabulous headlines on how much solar and wind is being installed, things in general aren’t going well. Yes, there are areas where significant improvements have been achieved, but not nearly enough, and the macro strategy is woefully flawed.
The first step in correcting course is to change the mindset of average people around the world. If successful, we can then begin to achieve meaningful changes in behavior and ramp the pressure on world leadership.
