Green hydrogen – implications and prospects for Africa
There is some international recognition and commitment to growing a green hydrogen economy in Africa. The H2Atlas-Africa project – a joint initiative of the German government and sub-Saharan African partners aims to produce 165,000TWh annually in West Africa across several projects. Germany has also signed partnerships with Namibia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, as well as collaborative projects with South Africa and Morocco.
