Green Energy Futures - The clean energy revolution
I encourage you to sample some of the offerings at GreenEnergyFutures.ca. The video stories are normally about five minutes long and get right to the heart of the technology, project, or person. Teachers use Green Energy Futures and the series has a strong following of entrepreneurs, political leaders, municipalities, and people in the broad fields of sustainability, energy, green buildings, and green transportation.
You will find the stories of entrepreneurs such as Norman Crowley, the Irish multi-millionaire who started the Cool Planet Group of companies that includes Crowley Carbon, Crowley Solar, and Electrifi, an electric vehicle company.
We have also profiled Kent Rathwell, an Ontario native who owns Sun Country Farms in Saskatoon a company that sought to develop a carbon-neutral supply chain long before it was fashionable. Going on that journey led Rathewell to start Sun Country Highway, a company that installed thousands of EV chargers across Canada even before there were many EVs in Canada. It's the longest continuous chain of electric vehicle chargers in the world.
Or in our most recent story on Alberta's Solar Boom, we feature Dan Balaban, CEO of Greengate Power, a small Calgary startup company that built the largest wind farm in Canada long before it was very economical to do so. Today this former oil industry guy is building the largest solar farm in Canadian history, the 465 megawatt Travers Solar Project.
A few months ago we interview Jeremy Baines, the president of Neste U.S., the American division of Neste the oil company from Finland. This Finish national oil company is producing 3.4 trillion liters of renewable fuels per year. They are the largest supplier in the world with one of the best-developed supply chains.
Those are just a few of the stories we've featured over our nine-year history as an independent media service in Canada.
