"They are set up to show how a normal home can have hydrogen piped in in the same way as gas. The message is simply - the consumer won't know the difference."

If the consumer won't know the difference, it would be lot cheaper to keep pumping him methane while telling him he's getting ultra-clean, pure hydrogen. It's dishonest, but a helluva lot more profitable.
