Offshore Wind lease | California
Three lease areas in the Morro Bay Wind Energy Area (off central California) and two proposed lease areas in the Humboldt Wind Energy Area (off northern California). These lease areas, totaling approximately 373,268 acres, have the potential to unlock over 4.5GW of offshore wind energy, power more than 1.5 million homes, and support thousands of new jobs.
The California Offshore Wind Lease Sale is part of our leasing path to meet the goal of deploying 30GW of offshore wind energy by 2030. The development of the #MorroBayWEA and the #HumboldtWEA will strengthen our clean energy economy and our nation's energy independence while lowering energy bills.
