Alberta will look to use its plentiful natural gas reserves to become an exporter of hydrogen, a clean-burning fuel, by 2040, Premier Jason Kenney said on Tuesday.

Rather than positioning this as a green move with a future towards hydrogen associated with excess renewables, these leaders appear to be upfront that this is more about creating a market for their natural gas capabilities today and in the future. Not sure that's going to be a winning move for the long term in line with any wide-scale energy transition
