Utilities to FCC: Don’t mess with our spectrum | FierceWireless
A trade group representing hundreds of U.S. utility companies is urging federal agencies to make sure that power and electricity providers retain control of interference-free spectrum so they can continue to operate their own private wireless networks.
Defnding your turf is always important, and the Utilities Technology Council is doing its share. Regulatory encroachment is always going to be an issue, so staying proactive on new potential limitations is usually worth the time and effort. A nice second step for the council is to maybe conduct a PR campaign to educate the mainstream media on why utilities need private wireless networks is in order.
