Record low power prices in Brazil

Deregulated power prices for future delivery plummeted to its lowest value of the last 12 months, to R$ 146/MWh (USD 26/MWh).

For comparison, the regulated rate granted by ANEEL to ENEL (the distribution company that serves the city of São Paulo) for off-peak hours is R$ 237/MWh. (USD 42/MWh).

This fact - itself - points to the interest and convenience of closing NOW power contracts for future delivery.
