Discovering opportunities to improve $/MWh of contracted energy and reduce MWh/activity is not a "seven-headed bug". On the contrary, it is something well known in engineering and business.
The biggest challenge I see is the discipline to make it happen.
I explain. Our tradition (in Brazil) is that of having employees who are always interested and willing to seek opportunities. They are usually very friendly, showing goodwill.
But the harsh reality brings another side of this situation. A lack of commitment to timelines that include activities, deadlines, and assignees. To actually achieve and sustain results.
From declaring yourself "interested" in the savings potential, to "committed" to results, there is a big leap to be overcome.
The secret is to agree on an agenda with everyone involved. This aligns realistic perceptions and expectations.
